FORGE is a US-based nonprofit organization that works with displaced communities in Africa. Since our founding in 2003, our strategy has been to build the skills and capacities of refugees while they are in refugee camps to help them rebuild their post-conflict communities when they return home. Learn more about our history and mission.
The Problem? At the end of 2006, there were over 9.4 million people displaced by war in Africa. Overlooked in the conflict resolution process, refugees are often viewed as helpless victims of war. The reality is that they are dynamic, social and economic actors who have the potential and desire to control their own lives, livelihoods, and futures. Learn more about the problem and the solution.
How Can I Make A Difference?
Our donors are the ones that make our work possible. Through FORGE, you can select specific projects that you’d like to support and donate to them. We keep our expenses low, so it often just takes a few donors to get the project off the ground and affect thousands of lives. Moreover, you can stay involved with your project through frequent updates and feedback from the field. View projects that need your help.
