INTRODUCTION
Both the youth group and health & body had progress during the month of December. Pre & post- tests were given to students to test their knowledge in Lessons taught including Sanitation, Diseases information and Anatomy.
Short and intense classes were also given to returnee students with lessons based on causes of diseases, HIV / AIDS and general sanitation. 18 returnees were trained for short and intense workshops.
STATISTICS / INDICATORS
Health and Body class ENROLLED 30 students while the youth group had 20 youth for the month of December. Classes for adults were not that regular because of a known factor of the rain season where students had to go to their farms to cultivate. The youth group classes took place without interruption throughout the month as children rarely go to the fields to cultivate and these also have very few commitments to take care of.
SUBSTANTIAL PROBLEMS / ISSUES
The enrolled participants were 30 and among those have completed the session. But among those, some want to continue attending though they have finished it. Due to personal matters like what is mentioned above, some of our participants were regular and some were not.
As some of the Health and Body activities like traveling workshops and others were canceled and the number of workers to be decreased, the project is now facing problems in terms of improving its activities. The out reach was a good way to attend people in the community, but now it has become very difficult to out reach them.
REQUESTS / WISHES
The health project is requesting for more health educational material in terms of posters on Anatomy, Sanitation, Diseases information and many more to help to understand their lessons easily. This request has been placed many times in monthly reports so I hope that it will be treated with priority this time.
UP COMING EVENTS
Level one that graduated under health and body will proceed to level two of health and body classes with additional classes on Sanitation, HIV/AIDS. The youth group will work hand in hand with World Vision education office so that the youth group can reach many youth from various schools and grades.
