Summary of project status and achievements:
This month, all of the new Grade 10s reported to Meheba High School. Initially all of the students were not assigned to Meheba High School but the Headmaster consented to their acceptance in mid-February. The PM bought them the necessary supplies to start (uniforms, slashers, buckets, etc.) and they all reported and began classes by the last week of the month.
The other students are doing well. The FEF Officer met with a teacher from Solwezi Deaf Unit who reports that the deaf students are studying hard. Florence is preparing for Grade 12 exams and Christmas and Elisa (Grade 11) and doing well, according to their teachers at the school. Bartho has settled into a schedule, traveling to the school three times per week. All of the students are completing their work study without a problem, and they enjoy working with Domingo in the library (the new librarian and former FEF-graduate).
Future activities and projections:
When the Grade 10s are settled, we will begin the FEF mentoring program. Each student has already been assigned an older/younger counterpart, and the PM will meet with each of the pairs to talk about how the program will work.
The PM is still awaiting the results of the Grade 12 exams.
