August was specially for some revisions and winding up with lectures to get ready for exams that are starting from the 31st to the 4th of September.

i. SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Quality systems management: We covered the last parts of the module including – six sigma as one of the most successful business strategies for quality assurance. As the reports and experiences from big firms have shown how it leads to success in business, it has given me basic knowledge of how important is quality assurance and what it takes to achieve it in business.

Entrepreneurship: We covered some topics that seemed to be the most important topics in this module; common mistakes in entrepreneurship, and how to avoid them. I came to realize that I was missing something very important tool in my entrepreneurship skills. Things like – management mistakes – poor financial control – weak marketing effort - failure to develop business plans were among the common mistakes while – having a depth knowledge of the business one wants to get in – developing a solid business plan where among how to avoid those mistakes.

HTML Programming: We reached the web validation step whereby a page is tested to find if it complies with the standards that are covering the web. We worked out a good number of exercises together with my one classmate. We had to meet the lecturer for some more lectures even during the study break because we had some more things to cover before the exams.

Networking: We had a quick revision of the entire covered material to make sure we are ready for exams.

Group Project: The project is still stuck at the beginning of the coding stage due to some availability problems. My classmate who is supposed to whom I am working with is having a hard time of transport to come to our house which is the only place we can work from, because he has no electricity at his home (just moved in) and the school computers lab is not yet ready for continuous use by computer science students.

ii. PERSONAL ACTIVITIES

We had a good time with Audrey’s parents who visited us for a day at our house; I enjoyed having dinner with them. My family repatriated on the 25th of August 2009 to Pweto, but my father and other family members will be based in Kilwa.
