i – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
This course has significance of Non-governmental Organizations management which is directed into community based activities for human development. For one to graduate there is need of writing a dissertation. Therefore, the research has opened my sight a lot in terms of organizing my work. I have finished research draft II only waiting for response from the supervisor. The things which are involved in the research are; table, title page, abstract is, statement of authenticity, table of contents, list of tables and figures.
Table of contents is where the page or pages are used for writing the themes or chapters, references and appendixes of the dissertation. Introduction is the part of the research which explains the background of the study including aims of the study the rationale of the study and the limitations incurred in the research.
Literature Review is concerned with reading through published and unpublished information about the topic chosen. In the literature review also there is need to choose the better literature. When researching one has to mention the method used during the research for example I used focus group and observation methods in the study, primary and secondary methods; quantitative and qualitative methods. Presentation of data means that one has to show data using the results of the findings. For example I found out that 71% of the NGOs are aware of the NGO Bill of 2007 and are not ready for it to be enacted.
During analysis of Data, there is need of explaining what specific ways used for the analysis of the data collected for example I used Ms Word and tables for my analysis. Discussion and interpretation of findings is one of the important issues has to be applied. In this situation, In the conclusions there is need to summary of the research, write the implications of the study and write some recommendations on what is need to improve for example partner between the NGOs and the Government in order to promote human development in Zambia.
Whatsoever information is got to avoid plagiarism, the work must be cited or referenced and at the end of the work, there is need of appendices to be added that is to say tables and questionnaire. This research would have finished as mentioned earlier on but at the end of my submission two days to the deadline things changed. My supervisor changed my study topic slightly which needs me to specifically adjust my research also. I requested for extension of days from the Dean of the school, I am given one week. Therefore, I have to work harder then expected to beat the deadline again.
ii – PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
I and my group are working on the “Walk and Ride for Peace” group registration. By the end of this or next week, we will be openly talking to people and different media concerning the “Walk and Ride for Peace”. We have submitted a copy of our draft constitution to Home Affairs now waiting for response. What we need to put in place is some money for the registration and other personal documentations by policy. We have temporary physical address, Box number and other addresses.
In addition to that, I will immediately send copies of the proposal to each one of you.
iii – MISCELLANEOUS
These days, I am a member of IYF that is International Youth fellowship or World Youth festival in Zambia. We march in the Town, go for practice of games, music, Bible study and many other activities. The aim is to make youths realize their dreams through these activities. There are prizes for participation. I have been given T-Shirt for volunteering and soon I will be given Certificate. The festival begins on the 3rd to 6th of 09-2009 in Zambia.
