This report is for the aforementioned month, the classes started or resumed immediately on the officially opening day, that is 22nd July 2009, although few students were late in payments of tuition fees, and this made school management to temporarily combined two classes that is for last semester of level one and indeed only those who have qualified for diploma two and that instance, it went on for some weeks before we were ultimately divided into A and B class respectively. The followings are the subjects for this semester, Human resource, Industrial Relation, Quantitative methods, Qualitative methods and Organization Behavior.
i - SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
- For human resource management, strategic aspect of performance, organizational performance total quality management of human resource and appraisal systems. For me, I extremely enjoyed lessons overall and relate with I have learned to the running of the organization or company to be more efficient and effective by making sure that every employee is encouraged to set his /her objectives so that the conflict of interest is reduced so as for Organization to attain its overall objective and also by conducting performance appraisal for quantify.
- For Industrial relations, Introductions, the importance and what involved and benefits in industrial relations and trade unions.
It is quite interesting to learn this subject because I am enable to distinct approaches that employees may take toward the organization such as unitary, pluralist and radical and if employees chose to follow radicalism then the management may have hard time because they believe that if their grievances are not been attended and therefore, they be able running with management.
- For qualitative research introduction, traits of scientific methodology and the aims of research.
Research is quite involving and it is most interested at sometime, but it requires a person who is carrying research to be completely neutral no biases, hearsay, and myth. I have also learned that for one to improve on the given phenomena and alike.
- For quantitative method, basic descriptive and subject matter of statistics, statistical data processing cycle, kinds of collection methods, organizing, analyzing and presentation methods.
I have noted with interest that there are several methods of representing the data which I did partially or the introduction part of it at my high school level, but glad that I am learning them in details now such as form of chart cumulative frequency distribution, ,diagram, table and report in words.
- For Organization behavior, introductions to the field organizational behavior, individual characteristics,
In the nutshell, the most important aspect I have learned is very much useful for person to have an understanding of the organization and its culture, structure, types of organizational goals, and classical management approaches and how managers appreciate them in modern day in regard to the running organizations. Their strength and criticisms and also individual perception, group dynamic and team spirit, this is very fascinating subject.
ii - PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
In first instance, I am glad to mention that this month has been wonderful in term not only of gaining knowledge, but also of meeting new staff at school. As the semester has started my friends and I decided to continue with the study group to ensure that we prepare ourselves in advance, I do sometime pay a visit to old friends at university of Zambia as well as kwase’s wife home. I do attend the evening classes with Audrey, and equally I was excited to meet Audrey’s parents from state and we had great dinner together as a family.
I do enjoy reading at school main library as it is being recommended seriously this semester by new course director and does not for sure interfere with our group schedule.
iii - Miscellaneous
I am also happy to inform you that my daughter who is turning one year by 28th of this month has started walking. I am also enjoying
