i – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
I had no formal classes in terms of University school activities. I am still on vacation till next month. My exams started late August and ended early September. I wrote them well (without any interruption) and expecting great feedback. Otherwise, my next classes will start late mid October and that shall be the start of my last year in college.
September has been a month of my French and Portuguese classes. These are my usual extra curriculum course that I take. My language skills are getting better. I believe that by the time I will be graduating, my French and Portuguese would have gotten much better. My experience in these languages will be quite good enough for communication and my career excellence.
ii – PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
Always, I wished to be involved in a community service program and unfortunately had no chance to do that while in school. I tried to join a team of other students from the University of Zambia (another university) but it did not work out with me because of my status and being a foreigner to their institution. I have come to learn that problems sometimes open other opportunities. Although I did not get my wishes work with the University of Zambia Students, my idea was sold to other students in my faculty at my institution and every one bought it. We have decided to form a Cavendish University Zambia Community Service program (CUZ CoS). The program has become a sort of partnership between the students and school management; joining efforts to create a desirable community. It is a big challenge but I believe that we shall get there with time. We have reached the level of launching the project so as to sell it to other students and the general public. The launching is likely to happen in the month of October.
Another personal activity includes my weekly attendance for FEF – U extra curriculum classes (this excludes the two weeks of my study break and the other week of exams). I otherwise, joined the FEF – U classes the week after my exams and later continued with my one on one meeting with the FEF – U manager. It has always been a great opportunity being part of these classes. They are a great preparation of my College and life after college transition.
iii – MISCELLANEOUS
It is sometimes had for me to believe that I have gone two years of college and left with a year to graduate. This too brings me to the point of realizing how much I did not know or how much ignorant I was about certain things till I took the path of school. Am so grateful for this opportunity and I dream to use my acquired knowledge to revitalize my community in my own little capacity. I would therefore want to thank FORGE and my sponsor Ali McKeon for their continued support shown in my school undertakings. Even as I long to start my last year of college, I would want to let you know that I will do my best to take advantage of this opportunity and do what is required of me. For I know that this is the chance for me to realize my potentials and my role in the development of my community. Thanks once more for your continued support.
