i –SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
I wanted to include the results of the defense into my report of last month but the defense had to be rebooked up to the middle of this month.
During the defense of the dissertation, a summary of dissertation of 60 pages has to be extracted into 10 pages. This includes the following; introduction, background, statement of the problem, general objective, specific objectives, literature review, research methodology, findings, conclusion, recommendations, end of presentation, questions and answers session. Six copies have to be printed for the panel and mine one.
In the introduction, there is self introduction to the panel; the background contains the introduction of the topic, the importance of the research, area of coverage and the size of the research; in the statement of the problem one has to mention the likely or the existing problems of the study; the objective general and the specific objectives of the research need to be clarified; Literature review is concerned with reading through published and unpublished information about the topic chosen. When researching one has to mention the method used during the research for example I used focus group and observation methods in the study, primary and secondary methods; quantitative and qualitative methods. Research methodology is very important that is to say the techniques or ways used to collecting data; the findings of the research have to be mentioned.
In the conclusions there is need to make a summary of the research, write the implications of the study and write some recommendations on what is need to improve for example partner between the NGOs and the Government in order to promote human development in Zambia.
Recommendations are what one thinks to be done to reduce or solve the problems likely or in existence. At the end of presentation,there is questions and answer session.
ii –PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
The “Walk and Ride for Peace” group work has reached Zambian home Affairs for recommendation. After that we will be left with registration with registrar of society. The registration process is gradually changing to community social development. We have temporary physical address, Box number and other addresses.
iii –MISCELLANEOUS
I am a member of IYF that is International Youth fellowship or World Youth festival in Zambia. We have workshops on HIV counseling, Bible studies, training on to go for practice of games, music, Bible study and many other activities. The aim is to make youths realize their dreams through these activities. I am award certificate and some items for full participation. I have been given T-Shirt for volunteering and given a go head in mobilizing more members.
