INTRODUCTION
This October monthly report highlights the main activities that took place within the month which was the last full month to have classes. Next month we shall only have two weeks for study and two other weeks for study break. We are likely to start writing exams on 30th November. Therefore, because of this reason, we have really learnt a lot so as to cover the most important topics. Below is the detailed information.
i – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
As the introduction states, this month was the busiest month compared to the passed months. The reason is that most of the lecturers wanted to cover many topics that we seemed to be behind or not to learn it. But I am glad that I managed to submit the all remaining assignments and I am preparing for the two tests in microeconomics and information system. Moreover, the feedbacks that we have been given so far in some assignments are not bad though there are some few mistakes but there were encouraging. Below are different topics that we covered in different subjects or courses.
- In information system: In this course, we have covered about three topics which are: computer software, networking, and internet. It was quite interesting to know the three areas of network which are local area network (LAN), metropolitan area network (MAN, and wide area network (WAN), and how there are being used. This we help me to know which kind of network I should use within a particular area.
- In Business administration: In this subject, we have been remaining with only one topic which is: the channel of distribution and sales management. After we finished, we started learning about case study which is also one of the courses that we are doing now. This topic was very interesting to me when we started talking about the channel of distribution where we have got manufacturers, wholesales, retailers, and customers. It will be useful in my future career for the success of the business.
- In financial accounting: In this course we talked about capital expenditure, accruals and prepayments, irrecoverable debts, and allowances. These topics are very important and useful in my future. It will help to correctly prepare the balance sheet and income statement in whatever future job.
- In management, knowledge and information: In this subject, we are still doing individual presentation
- In microeconomics: In this course, we talked about the four different types of market structure where we have perfect competition, monopoly, monopolistic competition, and oligopoly. Apart from this, we also talked about the theory of production, production function and Isoquants. These topics will help me to know what kind of market structure I am practicing in order to effectively run my business.
ii - PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
We, Cavendish soccer players had a special meeting with the Cavendish management concerning the introduction football at our University. Lucky enough, we came up with one agreement and we are likely to restart training this week which sounds very good to me.
iii – MISCELLANEOUS
It is very sad that Paul is leaving. I am really going to miss him.
