i – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
In the month of November I really enjoyed school, I was able to attend all lectures without failure.
As we are getting close to the exams period, we had the opportunity to revise some of the topics. So in some modules we did not have new topics.
During lectures this month, we have covered different topics in the following modules:
Business Administration
In this module, we did not learn new topics because we had covered the syllabus in October.
So in November we were dealing with case studies and revisions of different topics mentioned bellow:
- Nature of the organization.
- Growth of the organization.
- Organizational culture.
- Production.
- Finance.
- Elements of marketing.
- People at work.
Microeconomics
- Theory of costs; costs in the long and short run, the implication of variable and fixed costs in a
production entity.
- The concept of marginal cost and marginal revenue.
- Returns to scale; It was very interesting to know how and when a firm or company can have: a
a constant returns to scale, Increasing returns to scale, and Decreasing returns to scale.
- Market structure and how it affects the behavior of a firm; this included Perfect competitive
market, Pure monopoly, Monopolistic competition, and Homogenous oligopoly.
- Pricing and output in a perfectly competitive market.
- Short run and Long run: Loss, Profit, and Breakeven point.
Financial Accounting
- Preparing cash flows: cash and cash equivalence, presentation of cash flow statement.
- Reporting cash flows from operating activities using direct or indirect method.
- Calculating ratios.
- Depreciation.
Information systems and theory
- Internet: Attacks and threats.
- Security and the internet.
- System development life cycle.
Managing Communication and professional development
- Brainstorming.
- Foundation of team dynamics; deference between team and group.
- Types of teams and groups.
- Learning style profile: Kolb learning cycle.
- Knowledge management.
ii – PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
- We went as a class to visit Mwembeshi communication station.
- I went to church on Sundays.
- I attended night classes with Audrey.
- I entertained myself with some of my hobbies: going for a walk with friends, watching TV and movies, going for a run…
- I did also some of the daily work: Washings, going to the market to buy food and prepare my meal.
iii – MISCELLANEOUS
I am getting myself ready for the exams that I will be writing soon on the 30th November.
I am planning to go visit my family right after the exams.
