i – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
I did not have a lot of school activities in the month of December. My classes I would say ran for a period equal to a week. School or classes could not run the way they supposed to run as scheduled on the Annual Calendar, two weeks of classes. Lecturers were busy marking exams and could not attend to the other classes.
Among the classes I had in the period of a week this month, were some two interesting classes in Human Resource Management and these are Employee Recruitment and Selection as well as Employee Training and Development. I too had classes in my Gender Module. The classes included lectures on Gender in Work Places in relation to a close look at how women are discriminated in terms of Job opportunities and in any general work environment. The other lecturer was based on Patriarchy. A class look at patriarchy has helped me understand the root causes of gender inequality.
I as well had classes in my research methodology class. They were based on how to go about social research and at the end of these classes; we have all been given a task to each write two research proposals on topics of individual choice. Between these two topics, one will be chosen to be the topic of the final research paper (dissertation) to be done and presented before the school administration before graduation. I have chosen or my research proposals will be based on the following topics. One is “an Investigation into Gender Equality and its Developmental Impact: A case of Chawama Compound in Lusaka” and the other topic is “A study into Waste Management and its Effects on Healthy of People: A case of Kanayama Compound in Lusaka”.
Otherwise, I never had a problem with my general school business besides some day were I never had classes due to an alteration in School activities (and marking date).
ii – PERSONAL ACTIVITIES
My French classes ran for some days in the month of December and had exams in the mid of the month. I did well and I managed to graduate for my French intermediary level with a high Distinction. This has benefited me a scholarship to continual with my French classes next January at Alliance Francaise. I am one of the two to get this scholarship opportunity.
iii – MISCELLANEOUS
I had a one on one meeting with the FEF – U manager and I got introduced to an E – Book on leadership. The book is about Social identity. It is another good supplement to the FEF – U leadership classes we have been having.
