Summary of project status/future activities:
The Block G Health Services treated 35 patients and referred 20 patients to a clinic. As well, the RHS employee has continued working with student and children in the community using the Grass Roots Soccer curriculum to teach about HIV and AIDS. Most of the students are from Block G Primary School.
As well, the RHS employee participated in the camp-wide UNHCR sponsored Teen Pregnancy Awareness Campaign.. FORGE was responsible for canvassing Blocks B, C, and G. A full report was written for UNHCR and was also given to FORGE to provide added detail.
Substantial problems or issues:
As discussed in the Community Health section of this report, FORGE is receiving continued pressure from UNHCR to provide medicine in Block G and C. This came up again during the UNHCR Campaign in Block G as there are no other health providers in the block. UNHCR is eager to have FORGE staff trained further so that they are able to distribute medicine. It is my understanding that Vaughn has been put in contact with the UNHCR doctor in Lusaka to discuss this matter further.
